The industry is one of the oldest in Latvia, and over the last few years, has seen rapid export growth. Total value of exports reaching €400 million a year. The output of the industry is exported to Lithuania, Estonia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Finland, the United Kingdom and Poland.

Investors are mostly interested in the opportunity to manufacture packaging materials and opening a plant in Latvia.
