The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) within the framework of the Innovative Business Development Programme for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) continues to organise and provide aid to Latvian entrepreneurs for participation in visits of high-ranking public officials abroad, organised by LIAA.

LIAA organises visits of high-ranking officials for a fee – with the possibility for eligible companies to receive aid for participation fees and travel expenses after the visit.

Participation in the state visit is an opportunity for Latvian entrepreneurs, together with the highest officials of Latvia, to explore foreign market opportunities, present themselves, products manufactured and services rendered by them, find new cooperation partners and bring Latvia’s name to the world.

Beneficiaries

• Merchants eligible to receive the aid according to the quality criteria (have scored at least 9 points). Check in the Self-Check Calculator
• Associations of at least five merchants 
• Foundations, where the founders and members include at least five merchants
• Merchants eligible to receive the aid according to the quality criteria (have scored at least 9 points). Check on the Self-Check Calculator
• Associations of at least five merchants 
• Foundations, where the founders and members include at least five merchants 
• Cooperative societies of at least three merchants (shall not apply to flat owner cooperative societies, car garage owner cooperative societies, boat garage owner cooperative societies and horticultural cooperative societies)
• Farms or fisheries eligible to receive the aid according to the quality criteria (have scored at least 9 points)
• Start-ups or merchants  receiving aid within European-level projects.

(!) All beneficiaries 

• must correspond to the status of micro, small and medium-sized entities engaged in economic activity (commercial enterprises) in accordance with Annex 1 to Commission Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 
• have no tax debts
