Other advantages for companies and investors include vast opportunities to rent or build logistics centres, take over and manage port terminals, benefit from the Special Economic Zone status, as well as receive preferential tax treatment for customs warehouses. Vacant territories are available in almost all Latvian ports.

Investors from Asia (China, Japan, India) are active in the sector, but recently investors from the EU (Lithuania, Belgium, the Czech Republic) and CIS countries have also shown great interest.
