Latvia is one of the greenest countries in Europe. Agricultural land comprises 13% of the country’s territory, and with a 14.8% share of organic farming in the total agricultural area, we rank fifth in the EU.

The sector employs 23,000+ workers. Grain, fruit, vegetables and fish are popular export products.

Most often, the investors come from Russia, Singapore, Finland and Italy. On average, around €10 million are invested in a project. The most investments go to manufacturing technologies or new production plants. Direct foreign investment in the sector exceeds €375 million a year.
