The Latvian transport and logistics industry boasts having over 8,000 companies with more than 71,000 professionals. It has something to offer to foreign and local investors as it provides direct and transit access to the EU market with 480+ million customers. Riga International Airport, currently the largest air transportation hub in the Baltics, offers 100+ direct destinations, while Latvian ports, with their attractive tariffs, can compete with other Baltic Sea region countries.
Starting from 2026, the ‘Rail Baltica’ project will connect Helsinki with Berlin right through the Baltics to further increase the competitiveness of the Baltic transport and logistics industry.
Investors from Asia (China, Japan, India), as well as the European Union (Lithuania, Belgium, Czech Republic) and the CIS countries, are the most active in the industry. The investments mainly go to the building of logistics centres, A-class warehouses and business service centres.
