Latvia’s love for the printed word is also evident in its export figures — Latvia’s book exports are the second largest in the EU.
The total turnover of paper and packaging production, printing and publishing is at least EUR 400 million per year, and it keeps growing — the export amount has increased by over 40% in the last decade. Impressive, right?
So far, book and packaging material producers and label printing companies are performing the best. Most products are shipped to Lithuania, Estonia, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Finland, the UK, and Poland.
Investors are interested in producing packaging materials by setting up production facilities in the local market.
