Energy and green technology

More than 2,000 companies with over 30,000 professionals are working in the Latvian energy and green technology industry.

Important industry players are also the ‘Green and Smart Technology Cluster’ and several educational and research institutions. In 2020, Latvia ranked third among the EU countries in renewable energy consumption. At the moment, most investment in the industry comes from Scandinavia. The investors are mostly interested in wind energy technologies or are eager to set up a production plant in Latvia.
