New cargo link between Riga Airport and Central Asia - Fly Khiva plans to increase frequencies to Riga
Uzbekistan’s airline “Fly Khiva,” which has operated several cargo flights from Uzbekistan to Riga since this summer, may introduce regular cargo flights in the future as demand grows.
The aviation cargo route Tashkent–Riga–Tashkent opens new opportunities for developing cargo connections and ensuring faster delivery of goods from Central Asian countries to recipients in Europe. Since the beginning of summer, “Fly Khiva” has completed five flights to Riga, with shipments mainly destined for recipients in France, Belgium, Poland, Germany, and Scandinavian countries.
“We are pleased that the carrier has chosen Riga Airport as a strategic partner for its growth, aiming to connect Central Asian countries with European markets. We hope that soon, “Fly Khiva” will provide regular flights to RIX, offering cargo owners broader access to both European and Asian markets. Investments in Riga Airport's aviation cargo handling infrastructure will continue, allowing us to attract new service providers,” emphasizes the Chairperson of the Board of Riga Airport.
The regular cargo route between Uzbekistan and Riga Airport could also be widely utilized for multimodal transport from China to Europe. “Our goal is to improve supply chain solutions tailored to our clients’ unique needs. Access through Riga Airport to international markets provides growth opportunities for businesses in various sectors where efficient and smooth cargo delivery is crucial,” explains Mr. Farkhad Mukhutdinov, Vice President of Cargo Division at “Fly Khiva.”
Strong partnerships with local businesses and logistics service providers, along with innovative logistics solutions that enhance shipment tracking, management, and service quality, will strengthen the local economy while promoting sustainable logistics practices. These include optimizing transportation routes and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
