Lat Eko Food, Ltd. is a Latvian capital company specialising in production of organic food for babies and children, offering products free from preservatives, colourings and other artificial ingredients. They produce a broad range of organic products, including smoothies, ketchups, fruit and vegetable spreads, hummus and desserts. Lat Eko Food is constantly exploring and developing new products to provide the highest quality in children’s nutrition. In order to reduce their environmental impact, the company integrates environmentally friendly technologies into its innovation process, such as using renewable energy and optimising water resources.
The company has won the appreciation of customers not only in Latvia, but in 35 countries around the world. 70% of the companies products are exported to its main markets: the Baltics, Scandinavia, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Canada, Singapore, Japan and elsewhere. In 2023, the company's turnover reached EUR 10.6 million, demonstrating stable growth. So far, Lat Eko Food has exceeded the targets they had set, having doubled their production capacity and introducing innovative new products, as well as obtaining several international certificates, including BRC, IFS, KRAV, HALAL, attesting to the high quality and sustainability of the company’s products.
In 2024, the company took advantage of support provided by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) to participate in the Latvian national exhibits at international expos “PLMA’s World of Private Label” in Amsterdam and “FOODEX JAPAN 2024” in Tokyo. “Taking part in these expos has been of strategic importance in the development of our company and in promoting our international growth. 65% of our customers are private label holders and the PLMA expo is an opportunity to meet them all in one place and talk to major players in the industry, as well as to attract new customers and establish new contacts. In turn, “Foodex” in Japan is the biggest food expo in the region, and as such it helps strengthen relations with customers in Japan, where our company has successfully been operating for more than 5 years already,” Ģirts Karlsons, Commercial Director of Lat Eko Food, explains.
“Being part of the Latvian national exhibit is an effective and efficient way to allow the participants to achieve more by pooling resources and attracting more attention. Without this joint initiative we would definitely not have been able to reach such a broad range of customers and implement so many important export activities,” he adds.
