LOM.LV UZNEMUMS, SIA main activity is NACE2 46.77 Wholesale of waste and scrap, but as an additional activity NACE2 38.32 Recycling of sorted materials is registered. The project activity will be carried out in the sector NACE2 38.32 Recycling of sorted materials. The merchant purchases scrap metal, checks its radiation level in accordance with the European Union requirements regarding environmental protection, and sorts it into ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal. The sorted scrap metal is subjected to further processing. Non-ferrous scrap metal is sorted by type of metal and percentage content of other metal impurities. Large scrap metal is divided into standard sizes. Small scrap metal, chips, trimmings are pressed into a size of 0.8 × 0.8 × 0.6 m3 for more convenient further transportation. The processed scrap metal is loaded into railway wagons and sold to buyers. LOM.LV UZNEMUMS, SIA processes, sorts, and shreds secondary metal into a cleaner product (3A gauge, chips, etc.), which will serve as a raw material for metal industry manufacturers, with reduced admixture of other metals and more precisely sorted by metal categories – ferrous and non-ferrous metal. The final product left in the recycling process is ferrous metal chips, non-ferrous metal chips, sorted and shredded ferrous metal gauge in the 3A category, etc. LOM.LV UZNEMUMS, SIA operates in Riga, Spilves Street 6A, where the scrap metal purchasing point, sorting and processing area, as well as storage containers are located. The company has a fleet of vehicles, warehouse buildings and a railway line, which are also located at Spilves Street 6A, which overall allows it to successfully increase the volume of product exports. LOM.LV UZNEMUMS, SIA promotes competitiveness and export capacity, brand recognition in the countries of the European Union and beyond, which, thanks to the introduction of green innovations in production and an attractive pricing policy, would stimulate the choice in favor of purchasing cleaner recycled scrap metal as a secondary raw material.
