Latvijas militārajā industrijā sevi piesaka jauns dronu ražotājs “ERASER”

Latvian defence and security industry ecosystem has seen the creation of a start-up company ERASER specialising in the development and production of military unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones. The new company draws on more than 30 years of experience in communications technology, systems integration and cooperation with government institutions.

ERASER is focused on research and development allowing it to adapt quickly to the technological requirements and operational needs of the defence sector. CEO Edgars Gauručs notes: “Given the growing role of drones in modern warfare, we have built a strong engineering team to jointly develop this sector of the military industry in Latvia, while also contributing to the national economy.”

Modular, tested and locally manufactured drones

ERASER drones are designed modularly which allows them to be adapted to different military tasks – reconnaissance, target designation, payload or electronic warfare operations. They are also capable of operating without GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) support, which is particularly important in electronic warfare.

Production takes place in Latvia, where work on the drones started a year and a half ago. With more than EUR 1 million invested in the production facility, the company is already capable of manufacturing thousands of drones per year, ensuring both rapid prototype development and on-time delivery to end users.

Regular testing, not only in Latvia but also in real combat situations, plays an important role. This approach allows the company to react quickly to feedback and continuously improve technical solutions.

A company with an international vision

ERASER has already proved itself in NATO procurements, where it has competed with leading international manufacturers, vividly demonstrating the Latvian company’s ability to integrate into the global defence technology market.

The core of the company is a highly qualified research and development team with practical experience in unmanned technologies, whose experts have developed FPV (first person view) sports drones and even missile system aircraft. This diverse experience gives ERASER the flexibility and ability to develop tailor-made solutions for different needs.

As critical systems are developed locally, the company prides itself on its ability to ensure high technological security and reliability, an essential aspect not only in the military sector but also in the context of national strategic interests.

The core of ERASER's engineering team originates from BELSS, the largest integrator of military system solutions in Latvia.
