“Vindr” saules enerģijas parks pie Līvāniem elektrību sāks ražot jau šī gada beigās

The construction of a solar park near Līvāni is actively continuing, implemented by renewable energy project developer Vindr. The project is progressing according to plan, with construction scheduled for completion this autumn so that electricity production can begin by the end of the year. In addition to sustainable energy production, the project will provide a tangible contribution to the local and national economy by creating new jobs, generating tax revenue and stimulating local business activity.

The capacity of the future park will be 4.3 megawatts (MWp), while the total investment is estimated at around EUR 1.8 million. The project will be located on a previously unused site, which is being cleared and transformed into a valuable infrastructure facility for clean energy production.

“The fact that we will soon start producing electricity is a significant achievement. Work is proceeding according to plan, and we are pleased that with the launch of renewable energy production, we will be able to contribute to the economic growth of both the country and the region,” says Vindr.

The development of the solar park will also bring long-term benefits to the local community, both through the creation of new jobs during construction and operation, and through opportunities for local businesses to get involved in providing services. In addition to the direct economic benefits, municipal budget revenues will also increase.

“With the implementation of each solar energy project, public awareness of sustainable energy production is also growing. Solar energy is a valuable resource, and such parks are particularly beneficial because they do not generate noise or emissions and have a minimal impact on the surrounding environment,” the company emphasizes.

According to Vindr, cooperation with the Latvian Investment and Development Agency has played a key role in the successful progress of the project. The company highly appreciates LIAA’s regular interest in the project, its support and involvement in resolving various practical issues.

“Support has been provided both in the form of advice and valuable recommendations, as well as in practical terms, for example, in finding a solution for using the Latvian State Road’s right-of-way for the construction of wind farm infrastructure. Such cooperation greatly facilitates the development of projects of this scale,” the company notes.

Vindr Latvia is part of an international renewable energy group that develops wind and solar energy projects in Latvia, Estonia, Norway, and Sweden. In Latvia, the company is currently working on the development of six wind farms – three in Latgale, two in Vidzeme and one in Kurzeme.

The development of wind energy in Latvia is strategically important, as it allows for a significant increase in local electricity production capacity in a relatively short period of time, promoting the transition to an independent, predictable and sustainable energy market.
