During incubation, Carbon Less Future identify exports as their focus

Carbon Less Future has developed a unique and fully automated vertical growing container for growing tree seedlings. The solution allows up to 100 000 seedlings to be grown per year, regardless of the season, with minimal water and energy consumption, and serves as an educational and interesting outdoor installation. The company’s potential customers are businesses and local governments that want to visibly demonstrate their contribution to nature restoration. Currently, the first container prototype has been installed in the centre of Gulbene.
Last year, with a ready-made product prototype, the company joined the business incubation program of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) in Gulbene and used the support available there for accounting services and office space. Company representative Aigars Jacuks points out that the mentoring and consulting available in the incubation program have been very useful, especially in refining the export strategy and focusing on specific regions and industries.
At the same time, participation in the incubator is also a strategic step for the company in preparation for the moment when the first orders come in and support will be needed for raw materials and production expansion. The company also plans to use an innovation voucher to collaborate with Riga Technical University to integrate cameras and artificial intelligence tools into the container for automated detection of plant defects and monitoring, further reducing human involvement in the cultivation process.
“Whenever we turn to them for advice or consultation, we receive a very welcoming and understanding attitude from LIAA. This really helps a new company, for which it is important to feel that you are not alone on your journey,” company representative Aigars Jacuks says.
He adds that using support tools naturally requires bureaucratic precision, both in preparing applications and reports, but the benefits are significantly greater: “We are truly grateful for this support. For a new company, this is very important: it provides confidence and stability to develop further.”
With the support of LIAA, Carbon Less Future participated in an international exhibition in Dubai this fall, where it gained many valuable contacts and confirmed the interest of potential customers. “The exhibition was our first big step towards exporting, and it was LIAA’s support that made this opportunity possible. We can see that there is a lot of interest in our product abroad. Given our almost 100% focus on exports, support for participation in exhibitions will continue to be important for our development in future,” says Aigars.
