Opportunities for FinTech and Technology Companies in Cooperation with the EBRD

In preparation for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Annual Meeting, which will take place in Riga in 2026, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) met with EBRD representatives to discuss cooperation opportunities aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and international visibility of Latvian companies.

Particular attention during the discussions was devoted to innovation, support for technology companies, and improving access to finance, laying the groundwork for closer institutional cooperation and the development of practical support solutions for entrepreneurs.

Special focus was also placed on the FinTech sector. The EBRD expressed interest in bringing together European, including Latvian, FinTech companies within a dedicated “FinTech Days” format, providing them with an opportunity to present their solutions to banks and financial institutions.

Step by step, a pathway is being built to help Latvian companies successfully enter broader international markets and attract investor attention.
