About the Business.gov.lv platform

Business.gov.lv is a website dedicated to business development created and maintained by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), which began operations in 2021. Business.gov.lv forms the basis for a sustainable, transparent and entrepreneur-friendly digital environment that will develop step by step - from a unified service approach today to a smart and fully integrated business ecosystem in the coming years.


The unified digital services platform provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to quickly and conveniently find all state services for businesses in one place, apply for them online and track application statuses. During the project, an authorized environment has been created in which company representatives will be able to transparently view the statuses of applications for services from the Enterprise Register and LIAA in one place. This is the first step towards a unified management of state services for entrepreneurs, the approach of which, after implementation, will be evaluated together with entrepreneurs and developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and the State Digital Development Agency to ensure the future growth of the platform in accordance with user needs.

Main tasks and results:

  • to develop and develop a unified digital entrepreneur platform business.gov.lv, which will include both LIAA services and a unified entrepreneur gateway with business services of all state institutions;

  • to create a unified service catalog that will allow you to search for services by “life situations” (for example, “Starting a company”, “Starting an export”, “Attracting employees”);

  • provide an authorized environment for entrepreneurs, where it is possible to track the status of applications, manage submissions and communicate with institutions in one place;

  • implement artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for personalized experiences and automated recommendations for starting and developing a business;

  • ensure that business formalities in Latvia can be handled 100% digitally by 2030;

  • modernize LIAA's internal systems and data exchange integrations, ensuring digital client application management and service provision efficiency.

     

This platform is a starting point for broader development, the next stages of which will include continued integration with other state registers, the introduction of artificial intelligence solutions, and the creation of personalized digital services. LIAA will actively involve entrepreneurs in this process to jointly define and determine future improvements based on the real needs and experiences of entrepreneurs.
