Technologies without borders: how FoxCom is shaping the future of SMS e-commerce

FoxCom is a Latvian company working at the global level while still being rooted firmly in the local technology ecosystem. The company specialises in SMS aggregation services ensuring efficient message delivery between mobile operators and international companies, such as social networks that send out authentication codes to users around the world. FoxCom’s advantage is its extensive network of international partners and proprietary technological solutions which guarantee fast, flexible and secure service.

Simply put, SMS aggregation is like a digital mailman between global companies and mobile operators around the world. For example, when a social network wants to send its users a message or a one-time password (OTP), it does not contact each mobile operator individually. Instead, it uses an SMS aggregator such as FoxCom which works simultaneously with many operators and ensures that the message is delivered to the correct recipients in a fast and reliable manner regardless of where they are located.

In addition to these services the company is also developing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and specialised software for the telecommunications sector. FoxCom’s latest solution SMSgic (smsgic.com) is an e-commerce tool allowing companies to independently and easily purchase SMS sending services online. The customers of the company are telecommunications operators and SMS data flow wholesalers across the world. Instead of focusing on specific regions, FoxCom is aiming for global growth based on market demand.

To strengthen its position in the international market and speed up implementation of innovations FoxCom has used several support tools offered by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), especially the digitalisation programmes. The company used LIAA support to design the SMSgic platform – a project which significantly expanded the company’s ability to reach and service customers online without any intermediaries. The company has also used state support tools for telemarketing activities which have helped bring in new customers and lay foundations for long-term partnerships.

CEO Danils Klimenkovs rates cooperation with LIAA positively and highlights that using state support is a skill acquired with experience: “In the beginning, the application process for state support seemed complicated – the requirements and documentation took a long time. But we quickly learned the process, and we just put together our latest project application within three hours, whereas the first one took us three days. LIAA support has helped us significantly speed up development and has opened the door to new markets.”

Looking forward, FoxCom is focusing on integrating artificial intelligence into their products. The company is actively working on technologies that will improve customer service, automate monitoring and analytics, as well as improve the development of security tools. The company’s goal is to become the industry leader in SMS e-commerce.
